ENTRY 9 : E-LEARNING SMART BUILDER

Hello everyone! It's the final week! So, this week is the submission week for our SmartBuilder project.
So today i will update on my final topic which is SmartBuilder that i have learnt in last week week class.
What is SmartBuilder? 
SmartBuilder is an Interactive and fastest authoring tool for creating serious elearning including case scenarios, gamification,branching, storytelling, gaming, assessments and more to inspire your elearning designs.

So,  i was given a group project to create an educational software using the SmartBuilder. My group has decided to create an educational software based on title Malaysian Legends. As for the course ware, my group did pretty well. And since the submission date was last Friday, i have the link that i could give you so that you can watch how our group work looks like. I really hope all of you enjoy watching our video. I am so grateful that i have a team who is very committed to complete the task given. 
So, this maybe my last reflection i would write for my Internet Technology class. I will miss learning with Madam Azidatunnoor and i definitely won't forget all the memories in the class. A big of Thank you to Madam Azidatunnoor.

ENTRY 7 : POWTOON

Hello everyone ! So, today i want to share with you about what i have learnt in the previous class.


Do all of you know about powtoon ?
Powtoon is a is a company which sells cloud-based software for creating animated presentations and animated explainer videos. If you are good enough in using this powtoon you can have a very good presentation as it will make your slide become more interesting. Plus, your slide also will attracts the audience attention. There are so many things that you can explore and will make your works become easier with powtoon.

For this class, i had given a task by my lecturer to create an educational video using powtoon. Basically, we need to be in a group as this is a group assessment and we have to select any interesting topic. So basically my group had chose the topic on 'Obesity'.

ENTRY 6 : USING PODCASTS AND STORYTELLING IN LANGUAGE LEARNING

Hye peeps ! so today i will write about the lesson that i have learnt this week which is podcasts. Do you know what is podcasts ? 

Podcasts is actually revolves around audio or video which can be played and downloaded through internet connection. So, you know that you can directly search for any Podcast that you want to listen to, downloaded it and have it played whenever and wherever you want. The term podcasts comes from iPod ( Apple portable MP3 player )

There are 2 main uses of podcasts:

Students can listen to existing podcasts
Students can create their own podcasts

Podcasts also can be used in self study, listening in class, encourage students to find a podcast that interests them and to listen regularly.

The things that we need to podcasting are:
An audio / recording tools
Online voice recorder
or the smartphone

You also need the audio editing tools:
Audacity or any online audio editor

Next, if you are done with all the stuff, you need to upload to favourite podcast medium such as
Youtube
itunes
Soundcloud
Blog

GREETINGS AND HELLO EVERYONE !

Hello and hye everyone ! so let's start with the introduction first. My name is Wan nurhafiza fatini binti wan hassan and i am sweet 22 years old. I am currently an English undergraduate student in Malaysia and this blog is created for the purpose of sharing what I've learnt from one of my ELT Subject : Internet Technologies for English Learning (ESP6013).

So, let me give some information about my coursework. This class is 100% coursework, with ratios of 20% for quiz 1, 20% for blog, 10% for article review, 20% for educational video and 30% for e-learning course-ware. Some of the work would be individual and some would be in group.


So, basically this subject would be 100% coursework. What i really hope for this class is that i can gain many more new knowledge about internet. So far, i really enjoy learning this subject. See ya on next page !

ENTRY 5 : INSTRUCTIONAL COURSEWARE DESIGN

Hello peeps ! In this topic we will learn on how to figure out the needs of the learner, to define the learning objectives and to create some intervention to achieve our objectives. In order to do that with CALL, we have to combine the behaviorist and constructivist learning theory. There are three things that we have to look into before we create any content/instructional design for the students

  •  LEARNERS’ NEEDS

         - Learners’ needs is the gap between what the learners want to gain at the end of the day and the            learner’s current skill or knowledge
         - In order to find out what are the needs of a student, needs analysis has to be conducted with                the syllabus, conducting survey, free writing and public records
         -  It is done to gain better understanding about the student whether we (the teacher) have to                    adjust the lesson according to the students’ needs

  •  LEARNING OUTCOMES
        - Learning outcomes is basically what the students will learn or achieve at the end of the lesson
        - It provides objectives to the lesson and we have to ensure that the learning outcomes is                       measurable to assess the students’ achievement

  •  INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
       - Instructional design is all about creating syllabus to be used in the class based on the needs                  analysis, lesson planning, material selection and adaptation and planning of implementation and          intervention

  •   ANALYSIS
· At this stage, we have to identify the objectives, learners level and needs
· Some of these questions might be helpful in analysis
· E.g. Who are the learners? What is the desired behaviour of achievement? What are the delivery        options? What are the learning theories applied?

  •  DESIGN
· The second step is design. Design involves dealing with the learning objectives, learners needs,           learning theories, materials, exercises and content
· Creating a “storyboard” of what the courseware should look like helps us to keep in track with the     project/courseware

  • DEVELOPMENT
 · Development is the stage where the developers (teacher or programmer) create and assemble              content and assets based on the blueprint in the design phase
· There are two parties involved in this proves which are the creators who are responsible in                   developing the graphics and materials and integrate them into the courseware. And we also have         testers who will check for bugs and errors and give feedback on the design

  •  IMPLEMENTATION
· Implementation is the stage where the creators will develop procedures for the implementation of        the courseware
· This includes training facilitators and learners to use the courseware
· Other than that, lesson plan is developed to suit the courseware

  • EVALUATION
· Evaluation is the stage where the impact and effectivesness of the courseware is evaluated
· There are two types of evaluation: Formative and Summative Evaluation
· Formative evaluation evaluates the effectiveness, usefulness and relevancy of the courseware
· Summative evaluation evaluates the effectiveness of the courseware as a whole whether it should be adopted, continued or modified for improvement

What is search engine?
Search Engines like Google or Yahoo uses software that collects data from the Web to include in its database. Each search engine has its own database. So this database is functioning to store references to Webpages. However, it only keeps only essential information of a webpage. It will query the information by keyword. Note that, it will take longer time to access to the webpages.

What is web-crawlers?
Web-crawlers or spider is an automated program or bot. it is also known as “Crawls” since it will crawls all over the Web Page collecting information through keywords, titles, synonyms, access frequency and also relevancy. The information is indexed and stored in database.

What is Meta search engine?

A search engine that matches the user’s query to multiple search engines. metaCrawler, SavvySearch an Dogpile. You should give it a try to experience a new searching platform. This Meta search engine is different from the usual since this is where all the confidential file and unexposed things has been hidden.
